Permit Prices 2019

Anglers must have a current permit, the relevant Environment Agency fishing licence and maps of the water in their possession to avoid trespass and to avoid prosecution. The boundaries of Federation beats are marked by signs or posts and if you are in doubt as to where to fish, do not fish and seek clarification before doing so.

On the river Till, the right to fish is subject to special rules which are published on this website and it is not possible to fish the Till without making prior arrangements with the Head Bailiff. Anglers will also need to familiarise themselves with the River Tweed Commission Rules and Regulations, including those relating to grayling.

Purchase of annual permit (season ticket) is open only to permanent residents of Northumberland, Durham and Tyne and Wear  Visitors to Northumbria have the opportunity to fish all the Federation’s waters on with either a daily or weekly permit. These permits are only available by contacting the head bailiff.

Permit Acquisition

Anglers must have a map of the waters in their possession when fishing to avoid trespass. The boundaries of such waters are marked with white posts or some other feature, if in doubt of rights to fish anglers should seek confirmation to avoid prosecution. Where the Board considers it necessary, changes to the extent or boundaries of Federation waters will published on this website. The Federation has acquired fishing rights on the River Till and Wooler Water. These rights are subject to special rules which are published on this website and it is not possible to fish them without making prior arrangements with the Head Bailiff. Anglers will also need to familiarise themselves with the River Tweed Commission Rules and Regulations, including those relating to grayling.
The Northumbrian Anglers Federation has fishing available for permit holders on the rivers Till, Coquet and Tyne. To fish Federation waters anglers need to be in possession of a valid permit for the year and the relevant Environment Agency fishing licence.

Visitors to Northumbria have the opportunity to fish all the Federation’s waters with either a daily or weekly permit.
The following permits are available:

A season’s Salmon permit (valid all fish). (Required for the River Till.)
A season’s Trout permit valid for brown trout on Coquet and Tyne.
A season’s Coarse permit valid for Coarse fish River Tyne only.
A 7 day Visitor permit for all fish/rivers.
A 7 day Visitor permit for trout only
A 1 day Visitor permit valid for all fish/rivers
A 1 day Visitor permit for trout only

The Visitor Salmon and Coarse permits are only available from the Head Bailiff.


There are 2 seperate beats on the River Till. One is a 6 rod beat and the other is a 2 rod beat. Anglers must reserve a day by contacting the Head Bailiff.

Also enclose SAE at least 9" x 6" (C5) with sufficient postage so that you may receive your permit, handbook and guide which contains full rules and regulations.
